Venteon Finance is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst for a leading manufacturing company in the Detroit area. The role supports the Corporate Finance organization's technical accounting and SEC reporting activities, ensuring GAAP compliance and SOX Section 404 controls.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting and 2–4 years of accounting/financial reporting experience, with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in modern accounting software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• 2–4 years of experience in Accounting/Financial Reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statements.
• Self-starter with attention to detail and ability to complete projects start-to-finish.
• Advanced PC proficiency.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical accounting research and assist in the preparation of accounting memoranda.
• Assist with analysis and implementation of new accounting standards, including the development and implementation of new internal controls.
• Participate in the preparation of the financial statements and footnotes for quarterly and annual filings with the SEC.
• Assist with completion of Sarbanes-Oxley – Section 404 testing.
• Analyze and tie-out reports from third-party service providers (pension/OBEP, goodwill impairment, etc.).

Maintain records of organization's financial activity in accordance with GAAP, organizational standards, and in compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
