Responsibilities

  • Lead development and management of operating expense budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure projections are accurate, forward-looking, and aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Establish and enforce expense governance standards, financial policies, and spending controls.
  • Deliver expense reporting, variance analysis, and performance insights to leadership.
  • Partner with cost center leaders to explain variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Evaluate business cases for headcount, discretionary spending, and strategic investments.
  • Apply financial rigor and benchmarking to assess ROI and investment alignment.
  • Collaborate with Division leaders, IT, Procurement, Legal, and Finance to support decision-making.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives across the organization.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and strategic projects as needed.

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Financial Analyst in Columbia, MD. Summary: We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to lead expense budgeting, forecasting, and governance initiatives. This role partners with cross-functional leaders to drive cost discipline, deliver actionable financial insights, and support strategic investment decisions. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and strengthen accountability across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analyst will lead development and management of operating expense budgets and forecasts

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or advanced financial certification (CFA, CPA) preferred
  • Experience with financial planning systems (Hyperion, Anaplan, Adaptive Insights)
  • Experience supporting cross-functional cost governance initiatives

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
