The role reports to the CFO, offers exposure to executive leadership, and a hybrid schedule (3 days in Baltimore, 2 remote after training).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of work experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with audits is highly preferred.
  • Healthcare/nonprofit accounting experience is desirable.
  • Intermediate Excel required and Oracle NetSuite a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead annual operating and capital budgeting across departments.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
  • Prepare monthly financial and operational reports with budget-to-actual analyses.
  • Analyze financial statements and KPIs to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Assist month-end close including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations.
  • Support annual audits with schedules and documentation.
  • Create financial models for initiatives and ROI analyses.
  • Monitor budget performance with department leaders.
  • Support long-range financial planning and capital spending.

Financial Analyst – Baltimore, MD

About the Company and Overview of the Financial Analyst Role:

  • CFS is partnering with a respected healthcare-focused nonprofit organization to identify a newly created Financial Analyst position. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical professional who enjoys working with budgets, audits, financial reporting, forecasting, and strategic decision support.
  • The organization is investing in its finance function and seeking a Financial Analyst who can help provide meaningful insights to leadership, improve budgeting processes, and support key organizational initiatives. This role offers exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to make a direct impact on financial planning and operational decision-making.
  • Reports directly to the CFO
Responsibilities of the Financial Analyst:
  • Lead and coordinate annual operating and capital budgeting processes across multiple departments
  • Develop budget models, forecasts, and financial projections to support organizational planning
  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial and operational reports, including budget-to-actual analyses
  • Analyze financial statements, key performance indicators, and trends to identify risks and opportunities
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Support annual audits by preparing schedules, reports, and requested financial documentation
  • Create financial models and ad hoc analyses to evaluate operational initiatives, new programs, and return-on-investment opportunities
  • Partner with department leaders to monitor budget performance and explain variances
  • Monitor capital spending and assist with long-range financial planning initiatives
  • Present findings and recommendations to finance leadership and other stakeholders
Qualifications for the Financial Analyst Role:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • 3+ years of related work experience
    • Strong experience with budget development, forecasting, and financial reporting
    • Audit experience is highly preferred
  • Healthcare and/or non profit accounting experience highly desired
  • Experience using Oracle NetSuite a plus
  • Intermediate Excel experience required
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen and be comfortable with submitting to medical screening or providing vaccination records

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. This position offers a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office in Baltimore City and 2 days remote after training. During the first 30 days, candidates should expect to work fully onsite while getting up to speed. Candidates who are not local to Maryland will not be considered.

Salary: $90,000-$100,000
