Job summary

Chaffey College seeks a Program Assistant, Financial Aid at the Fontana Campus. This full-time, 12-month classified contract supports intake interviews, referrals to campus and community services, coordination of tutorial services, outreach, and reporting to assist a diverse student population.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm (with Thursday 10am–7pm); starting salary is $4,845 monthly plus excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse backgrounds in a community college environment.
• Knowledge of programs for educationally and economically disadvantaged persons.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; advise students and collaborate with staff.

Responsibilities

• Conducts intake interviews and determines need for services and referrals.
• Provides guidance, workshops, and orientation; explains program policies.
• Coordinates tutoring services by recruiting and supervising peer tutors.
• Establishes recruitment relationships and prepares promotional materials.
• Compiles and analyzes student data; prepares narrative and statistical reports.
• May monitor budget and maintain resource library.
• Performs clerical tasks as needed.
