Job summary

San Joaquin Valley College Inc. is seeking a Financial Services Associate to assist applicants and students with federal financial aid eligibility, calculating awards for Pell, SEOG, Stafford/Direct loans, and other programs.

You will package and award aid for each academic year and enter data into the Student Information System, following federal regulations and institutional procedures. Strong ethics and clear communication are essential to help students understand options.

Qualifications

• Associate degree is required.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Two plus years of related financial advising or training experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explain the financial aid process and available programs to students.
• Estimate and calculate aid based on eligibility.
• Counsel students on aid paperwork and award information.
• Create funding plans for enrolled students.
• Review submitted Financial Aid documentation and determine additional requirements.
• Maintain high service levels and meet performance metrics.
