SUPERVISOR:
Director of Financial Aid
BASIC FUNCTION:
Advise students, parents, faculty, staff, and other constituents on financial aid, and administer financial aid programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required – Bachelor’s degree.
- Knowledge of current software applications.
- Preferred – Experience in higher educational setting or related business/financial field.
- Income tax knowledge, accounting, or financial aid experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish languages.
Copies of all academic transcripts are required. Unofficial copies are acceptable at the time of application. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment, a complete set of original transcripts will be required.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 1. Assist students, parents, faculty, staff, and other constituents with the financial aid process, the completion of appropriate forms, and use independent judgment to advise accordingly.
- 2. Maintain familiarity of federal and state regulations and College policy and procedures in order to administer campus financial aid operations in accordance with the same.
- 3. Authorize, award, process, and disburse federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs and ensure compliance.
- 4. Assist with the implementation of the computer systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
- 5. Research and interpret federal and state regulations and ensure compliance.
- 6. Complete the verification process on student files and maintain verification policy and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and College policy.
- 7. Administer the work-study programs in accordance with federal and state regulations and College policy.
- 8. Perform, manage, and develop policies and procedures for the return of Title IV funds process according to regulations.
- 9. Responsible for updating consumer information to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- 10. Maintain an updated Policy and Procedure Manual.
- 11. Coordinate and implement a default reduction plan.
- 12. Prepare various federal, state, and institutional reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- 13. Develop and conduct internal and external financial aid presentations.
- 14. Assist in the development of department goals and develop new ideas and initiatives to enhance and streamline office operations.
- 15. Supervise and evaluate Financial Aid Secretary.
- 16. Serve on College committees as assigned.
- 17. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid.
