Scope of Job

To administer financial aid programs within the office of Student Financial Services by managing the daily functions required ofspecific financial aid programs, including quality control, fundutilization, and program implementation. Responsible for decisionmaking processes requiring initiative and judgment in responding toindividual needs of students for administration of one or moreprograms areas within the office of Student Financial Services, andfor the development of information and repost as required byfinancial aid programs.

Description of Duties
  • Coordinates assigned student financial aid program.
  • May coordinate and implement trainings for departmentalstaff.
  • Monitors standards of quality control for financial aidprograms.
  • Maintains compliance of State/Federal/Institutionalprograms.
  • Reconciles financial aid program accounts with the FinancialAid Accounting Office.
  • Prepares and reviews reports and data for internal and externalreporting and perform statistical analysis.
  • Monitors federal/state/institutional fund allocations in theawarding and disbursing process.
  • Communicates with federal and state agencies, as well ascurrent and potential students regarding financial aid relatedissues.
  • Reviews financial aid recipients' academic performance forsatisfactory progress, takes necessary action if progress is notmet, and reviews appeals.
  • Identifies program issues and works with management to resolvethem.
  • Supervises waged employees in the administration ofprogram(s).
  • Attends meetings, seminars and or/conferences and performsfrequent liaison activity with external agencies.
  • Counsels financial aid students and make decisions regardingawards.
  • Interprets and implements regulations set forth by federal andstate agencies.
  • Serves as liaison between the Office of Student Financial Aidand other campus departments, as well as federal and stateagencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University. Related workexperience can be substituted for education on a 2-for-1basis.

Required Experience

Two (2) years work experience in a closely related field to theduties being performed.

Work experience in Financial Aid.

Equipment

Proficiency in MS Microsoft Office products and ability to learnother software programs.

Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Usualoffice environment.

Other

Must have strong interpersonal and communications skills as well asexcellent organizational skills and be detail oriented. Ability tomulti-task, demonstrate computational ability and respondeffectively in a variety of situations and work effectively in teamsituations. Some travel will be required as well as flexibility towork evenings and/ or weekends.
