Job summary

Rock Valley College is seeking a Financial Aid Advisor to provide excellent service to students applying for financial aid. You will counsel students and families on funding sources, manage paperwork intake and student file maintenance, and ensure confidentiality of information.

You will review files, run award letters, adjust bookstore limits, and maintain accurate class rosters. Knowledge of FAFSA, state and federal rules, and Colleague is preferred; commitment to accuracy is essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Two or more years of experience in a related field with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to students and families.
• Counsel students and families regarding federal and state financial aid programs.
• Assist students with FAFSA and verification document completion.
• Review FAFSAs and required documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and maintain student files and imaging records.
