Job summary

ECPI University in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Financial Assistance Advisor to provide financial aid support and advising services to incoming and existing students on campus.

The role oversees daily processing flow, communicates updates to assigned students, and uses analytical skills to guide students through the financial aid process while building strong relationships to support educational goals.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of related experience; any equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CampusVue Student database, preferred.
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills; strong organizational and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work under high pressure with significant timeline pressures.
• Able to interact with students, parents, and external contacts, delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Advises students about paying for education, financial aid eligibility, procedures, financial assistance programs, costs, indebtedness, and money management; tailors information to the student.
• Collects and analyzes financial data to determine eligibility and awards within guidelines.
• Evaluates unusual documentation and makes adjustments to costs or dependency status as exceptions.
• Answers questions from students, parents, or guardians regarding financial aid.
• Analyzes reports to verify continued eligibility and notifies students of changes.
• Interfaces with lenders, employers, and Student Services staff to resolve concerns.
