Job summary

IBA Worldwide in Herndon, Virginia, is seeking a Financial Accountant to join the US Shared Services Finance team. The role focuses on financial accounting and reporting for Industrial Inc., ensuring accurate records, timely closings, and compliance with group policies and US GAAP.

The successful candidate will support audits, collaborate with Accounts Payable/Receivable in the US, and work with Treasury/Tax in Europe. Hybrid work model with ~50% office presence in Herndon and 50% remote.

Mission

IBA is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its US Shared Services Finance team. In this role, you will be the dedicated accountant responsible for the financial accounting and reporting of Industrial Inc., ensuring accurate financial records, timely closings, and compliance with Group accounting policies and US accounting standards.

You will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the financial statements and supporting audits.

Challenges we trust you with

• Own the end-to-end accounting and financial reporting activities for Industrial Inc.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, provisions, and other month-end adjustments.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities in line with Group reporting deadlines.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.
• Prepare sales and use tax returns
• Analyze financial results and explain variances to the regional head of accounting / corporate accounting/controlling.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Support external audits and prepare audit documentation and supporting schedules.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable in the US, and with Treasury, Tax, and Business Controlling in Europe/Belgium
• Contribute to process improvements, standardization initiatives, and finance transformation projects.

What we value

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in General Ledger accounting, financial accounting, or audit.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience with multiple & parallel GAAP reporting is an advantage (IFRS, local GAAP).
• Experience working in an ERP environment (S4 experience is an advantage, SAP experience is a requirement).

This position follows a hybrid work model, with approximately 50% of the workweek spent in IBA's Herndon, Virginia office and 50% working remotely from home.

Salary: Approx. $73,600 - $101,400 (based on experience, location, and education)
