In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the integrity of our general ledger, driving the financial close process, and providing actionable insights through data-driven variance analysis. The ideal candidate has a rock-solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles (debits and credits) and the technical capability to query large datasets using SQL to translate raw data into clear presentations for leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • General Ledger Management: Prepare, post, and meticulously document recurring and ad-hoc journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and reclassifications, ensuring strict adherence to accounting principles.
  • Data Extraction & Analysis: Write and execute SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large volumes of financial data directly from our databases to support month-end close and reporting.
  • Financial Close: Drive and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring all deadlines are met with accuracy and compliance.
  • Variance Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analyses of financial statements to identify and explain business trends, comparing current performance across Quarter-over-Quarter (QoQ) and Year-over-Year (YoY) periods.
  • Management Reporting: Design, prepare, and deliver clear, high-quality financial presentations and reporting packages to communicate performance metrics to senior management and key stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience: e.g., 2–5 years of progressive experience in accounting, general ledger management, or financial analysis.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Deep, intuitive understanding of debits, credits, and foundational accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).
Technical & Systems Proficiency
  • Hands-on experience writing SQL (e.g., SELECT statements, JOINs, data aggregation) to navigate and analyze complex datasets.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, power queries).
  • Experience with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
Analytical & Communication Skills
  • Proven ability to spot trends in raw data, explain the "why" behind financial variances, and present these findings clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
