Job description

The Financial Accountant is responsible for supporting the ongoing financial operations and reporting functions of the Citizen Watch America brands' global business. This role will also assist the budget and financial planning and reporting processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform balance sheet account analysis and follow up on reconciling items
• Calculate adjustments and prepare adjusting journal entries
• Prepare monthly financial statements for the US and Canada
• Submit monthly financial results to headquarters using their consolidation software
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and provide insights to support decision-making
• Prepare monthly actual CWA Group consolidated financial presentations and various other month end reporting
• Responsible for Intercompany reconciliations and reporting
• Assist in the preparation of the monthly cash flow and forecast
• Calculate monthly commissions for US and Canadian sales reps
• Ensure timely and accurate Sales and Use tax reporting and payment utilizing Avalara and Vertex software
• Completion of requests from external consultants such as Auditors, Tax consultants, and other financial advisors
• Process quarterly Federal and State estimated income tax payments
• Assist with the preparation of financial budgets and forecasts including P&L, Capex, Inventory and Cash
• Perform ad hoc analysis and financial projects as required
• Make updates to Customer pricing conditions in the ERP as requested

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Conscientious and solutions-driven, logical minded
• Autonomous, Detail-oriented, Intellectually Curious and Analytical
• Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills
• Flexible to take on additional tasks and cross train across the finance organization
• High degree of proficiency in Excel
• Integrated ERP system experience (SAP S4 / HANA Public Cloud a plus)
