Job summary

Bellafrutta, part of the Orsero Group, is seeking an Accountant to join our Finance Team and support accurate, timely accounting, reporting and reconciliation activities. You will work closely with teams across the business and the Group, contributing to day-to-day finance operations and statutory compliance.

You will handle VAT/VIES reporting, myDATA submissions, and group reporting while contributing to process improvements and cross-functional decision-making.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Strong understanding of Greek GAAP and IFRS reporting standards.
• Hands-on experience with myDATA, VAT/VIES reporting and reconciliations.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail and organization.
• Effective communication and ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting operations including processing of invoices.
• Monitor accounts receivable and assist credit control and collections.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Review employee expenses and assist supplier/customer reconciliations.
• Prepare withholding tax calculations, monthly VAT returns, and VIES.
• Support Group reporting and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure submissions via the myDATA platform are complete and timely.
• Stay updated on Greek tax and accounting developments and impact on processes.
• Collaborate with Sales, Logistics and cross-functional teams for financial insights.
• Track KPIs and identify opportunities to improve controls and procedures.

Our Finance Team supports the accurate, timely and compliant execution of accounting, reporting and reconciliation activities across the business. The Orsero Group operates throughout Mediterranean Europe, generating revenue of 1.7 billion euros.

The role

We are looking for a highly motivated Accountant to join our Finance Team and support the accurate, timely, and compliant execution of key accounting, reporting, and reconciliation activities. In this role, you will work closely with teams across the business and the Group, contributing to day-to-day finance operations, statutory compliance, reporting requirements, and continuous process improvement.

What you'll do

• Support day-to-day accounting operations, including the processing of supplier, creditor, customer, and fixed asset invoices;
• Monitor accounts receivable and support effective credit control and customer collection activities;
• Perform daily bank reconciliations, investigate variances, and support timely resolution of discrepancies;
• Review employee expense claims and support supplier and customer reconciliation activities;
• Prepare withholding tax calculations, monthly VAT returns, and VIES reporting requirements;
• Support Group reporting activities and contribute to the timely and accurate completion of statutory and local year-end closing processes;
• Ensure accurate, complete, and timely submissions through the myDATA platform;
• Stay informed about developments in Greek tax and accounting legislation and assess their impact on finance processes;
• Partner with Sales, Logistics, and other cross-functional teams to provide financial insight and support business decision-making;
• Track relevant KPIs and identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, internal controls, and operating procedures.

What you bringEssential

• 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in an accounting or finance role;
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, Greek GAAP, and IFRS reporting standards;
• Hands-on experience with myDATA, VAT/VIES reporting, and account reconciliation processes;
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken;
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, with strong Excel skills;
• Experience working with ERP systems;
• Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail, and excellent organizational capabilities;
• Effective communication skills, a strong sense of ownership, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Italian;
• Familiarity with Soft1 will be considered a strong advantage.
