Job summary

Willis Automotive is seeking a Financial Accountant to assist with the dealership's financial management, with a focus on month-end reporting, costing and posting deals, payroll calculations for sales staff, and balance sheet reconciliations. The role supports multiple departments in a family-owned Des Moines area automotive group.

Responsibilities include preparing monthly financial statements, payroll calculations, cost posting for deals, and annual budgeting support.

Qualifications

• AA degree in Accounting preferred but not required.
• Three plus years accounting experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with CDK dealership management software preferred.
• Detail oriented and organized with ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and supplemental reporting.
• Prepare payroll calculations for sales staff on commission-based pay plans.
• Cost and post all new and pre-owned car deals.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
• Participate in the annual budgeting process, and provide monthly reporting comparing actual results to budget.
• Various other reporting and reconciliations as required.

Primary Function:

The Financial Accountant is responsible for assisting with the financial management of the dealership with a focus on month end financial reporting, costing and posting of deals, calculation of sales payrolls, and balance sheet reconciliations. Performs all duties within the objectives, standards, and policies of Willis Automotive.
