Job Summary:Schmitt Music is seeking a full time Financial Accountant for our Bloomington, MN location. This Financial Accountant position will perform general accounting functions including reconciliations, allocations, accruals, analyses and journal entries to effectively close our monthly financial books. Additionally, this position will gather, compile and present data for internal use and external audits.Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Perform daily accounting tasksAssist in month end financial closingsReconcile major general ledger accountsMaintain files and documentation thoroughly and accuratelyFamiliarity with sales tax filingsCreate, maintain and manipulate data using Microsoft Excel.Gathering documentation for auditsAssist with other projects as neededWork Environment:This position operates in an office setting and operates normal office equipment including computers, copiers, telephones and filing systems. Retail and office-type working conditions. The responsibilities of this position may frequently require using hands, arms and talking or hearing. This position may often involve standing, walking and sitting. This position may sometimes involve climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling or crouching.Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This position is a full-time day position. Typical workdays are Monday through Friday with occasional weekend projects. Daily hours are flexible.
