Senior Accountant

Salary Range: $86,000.00 To $95,000.00 Annually

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in Plymouth, MN.The Senior Accountant is responsible for a variety of accounting functions for multiple business units.These functions include sales tax filings, monitoring of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, preparation of year-end audit work papers, preparation of monthly financial statements, monthly reconciliation of the balance sheet and other financial operations. The primary role is to provide accurate and timely financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing monthly reports. This role will oversee the daily financial operations of the multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs monthly reconciliations of asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Including analysis of general ledger accounts.
• Oversees and provides guidance to the Accounting Assistants. Answer questions, reviews and monitors their work and processes.
• Acts as a role model in Department and with internal business partners, demonstrating sound professional judgment, initiative, competence, efficiency, ethical behavior, collaborative problem-solving and a customer-service orientation.
• Provides general accounting assistance to Accountants and Business units.
• Assists with project management of new implementations or processes.
• Proactively identifies solutions to discrepancies in financial records.
• Verifies, allocates, posts and reconciles Accounts Payable and Receivable.
• Follows company processes and accounting best practices.
• Prepares Monthly Financial Statements in an accurate and timely manner.
• Prepares Year-end audits and account reconciliations.
• Performs Payables check runs twice a month.
• Reviews quarterly payroll tax returns filed by Ascentis.
• Reviews and recommends modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
• Initiates bank transfers.
• Daily cash reports back-up.
• Liaison between Accounting and other departments.
• Other duties as needed.
