Sabrosura Foods, LLC seeks a Senior Staff Accountant who will handle daily general ledger accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations for multiple plants. Hybrid role with in-office days Monday through Friday; candidates should be self-motivated, highly organized and able to manage deadlines to help achieve company objectives.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries and post them monthly.
  • Maintain monthly account analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet GL accounts.
  • Support the year-end close, audits, and tax processes.
  • Assist in strengthening internal controls and documenting policies.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable on invoice resolution and information.

Senior Staff Accountant

Salary Range: $95,000.00 To $110,000.00 Annually

Job Summary

As the Senior Staff Accountant, your responsibilities include daily general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliation, audit, and tax support for the manufacturing plants. Using your strong listening skills, you assess and understand business needs while communicating and interacting to build relationships with the Finance team as well as members of the leadership team. Your ability to influence and mentor other finance team members facilitates the identification of areas for improvement and allows suggested development and best practices. Overall, you are comfortable prioritizing tasks and managing deadlines to help meet organizational goals and objectives. In all you do, you maintain a commitment to integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This is a non-supervisory position.

Job Responsibilities
General
  • Support and guide the preparation of journal entries, post journal entries, and complete cash and bank reconciliations monthly.
  • Maintain monthly account analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet general ledger accounts for multiple legal entities.
  • This position is heavily involved with the month end, and cyclical closing periods including the year-end audit.
  • Provide support by pulling documents / support and answering questions for the annual audit.
  • Analyze variances and exceptions within balance sheet accounts and steps to resolve and elevate; offer ideas for resolution to correct exceptions and prevent recurrence of issues going forward. Recognize any potential overstatements on assets or understatements on liabilities.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing best practices related to internal controls along with documenting policies, procedures, and workflow within the scope of the role.
  • Assist Accounts Payable team with guidance and assisting with invoice resolution and information.
  • Assist management on special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Provide Tax support regarding apportionment / Income Tax payments.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Strong technical accounting and financial acumen along with problem identification, analytical and resolution skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP software required.
  • Advanced Excel skills in addition to experience with other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must have a high-level of organization, a positive attitude, self-motivation and an energetic approach.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business required.
  • 3+ years professional experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to produce results with limited supervision.
Physical Requirements
  • Sit for extended periods of time

Hybrid Role (In Office 3 Days per week) - Monday - Friday, Typical Office Hours
