Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking an Assistant Director of Accounting, Transitions & New Development to lead accounting transitions for hotels and new developments. This role is based in Pyramid’s Woodlands, TX, and collaborates with the Centralized Accounting Office, Regional Finance, and property teams to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in line with GAAP and USALI.

The position requires 5–7 years in hotel accounting or related fields, strong Excel and data mapping skills, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field is required.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience preferred, ideally in hotel accounting or transition projects.
• Strong understanding of hotel accounting operations, internal controls, financial reporting, and monthly close processes.
• Experience with USALI and GAAP; ability to handle multiple projects and travel for training.
• Proficiency with accounting software, reporting tools, and data mapping or conversion processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage accounting transition and new development projects for hotels and properties.
• Support due diligence and property setup across accounting functions.
• Identify hotel bank accounts and merchant IDs for setup in coordination with Treasury.
• Map and convert historical financial data into Pyramid systems and COA.
• Lead income journal mapping to align with USALI and GAAP standards.
• Develop post-transition training calendar and deliver training sessions (remote and on-site).
• Coordinate handoffs to Regional Finance leaders and support rapid property stabilization after openings or transfers.
• Assist in budgeting for stub periods and pre-opening costs; review and finalize transition reserves.
• Assist with proration schedules per Purchase & Sale Agreements and contribute to process improvements.
