Job description

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Manager, Business Architecture & Systems Lifecycle to lead the business side of system and process build frameworks. This role focuses on Adobe's finance and accounting transformation portfolio. You will lead a team of two individual contributors: one focused on System/Process Architecture and one focused on System Retirement this team will be the accountable owner for keeping the architecture landscape clean as programs like Q2C evolve.

This role is equal parts people leadership and architectural stewardship. You will set direction and mentor your team. You will ensure that first- and second-level operational procedures are detailed, current, and usable by transformation programs. You will also ensure legacy systems are retired deliberately.

What you'll Do
People Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a two-person team covering System/Process Architecture and System Retirement, setting clear goals and building a high-performing, collaborative practice.
  • Balance workload and priorities across concurrent transformation programs, deploying your team where the architectural need is greatest.
  • Represent the business architecture and retirement system scope or work in FTO and FTCO leadership forums.
Business & Process Architecture
  • Own the business lens on system and process architecture for finance and accounting modernization programs, including the current Q2C initiative across CPQ, CLM, and CRM.
  • Direct the documentation and ongoing maintenance of L1/L2 process workflows, ensuring they accurately reflect current-state and future-state design and are readily usable by transformation program teams.
  • Partner with program leadership, process owners, and technical teams to translate business requirements into clear, well-governed process and system architecture artifacts.
  • Identify process and system gaps or overlaps early, and drive resolution with the relevant business and technical owners.
Legacy System Retirement & Architecture Hygiene
  • Own legacy system retirement as programs complete. Treat retirement as an architectural choice, not just a shutdown task. Remove technologies no longer in use to keep the finance and accounting systems landscape clean.
  • Direct your System Retirement IC in building the retirement decision and execution plan for each legacy system displaced by a program, ensuring dependencies, data, and interfaces are fully accounted for before decommissioning.
  • Maintain a living view of the finance/accounting system and process landscape - what exists, what is being replaced, and on what timeline so the architecture stays clean as transformation programs land and avoid environment collisions!
What you need to succeed
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; MBA, PMP, or process-excellence certification (Lean/Six Sigma) a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in transformation program work, ideally within finance or accounting functions or business/process architecture, systems analysis.
  • Prior people-leadership experience, including mentoring and developing individual contributors.
  • Demonstrated experience documenting and maintaining process workflows and translating them into artifacts usable by delivery teams.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise architecture principles - system landscapes, decommissioning, and dependency management - with the judgment to treat retirement as an architecture decision.
  • Experience with Quote-to-Cash or related finance/accounting platforms (CPQ, CLM, CRM, ERP such as SAP S/4HANA or Dynamics 365) a plus.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; able to influence across business and technical audiences and operate decisively under ambiguity.
  • Experience across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
