Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is hiring a 9-12 month contract role with a local authority to support the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Council's financial management systems.

The postholder will lead and support system upgrades, financial transformation initiatives and process improvements, ensuring robust, compliant financial arrangements and effective stakeholder liaison across ICT and finance teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Local Government finance environment.
• Experience supporting or delivering finance systems projects and upgrades.
• Experience using corporate financial management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support financial system implementation and upgrade projects.
• Assist with the strategic development of financial management and procurement systems.
• Support the maintenance, configuration, and ongoing development of financial systems.
• Project manage financial system reviews, upgrades, testing, implementation, and post-implementation support.
• Liaise with software providers, ICT teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of projects.
• Develop project plans, monitor progress, and report outcomes to senior management.
