Job summary

BNSF Railway invites applications for a Summer Intern in the Finance Department based in Topeka, KS. This full-time summer program offers hands-on work in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting under guidance from experienced professionals.

Interns will handle real projects, gain insight into freight transportation economics, and build foundational finance skills with potential conversion to a Management Trainee role after graduation. Some remote work days may be available.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States and will be at least eighteen (18) years old upon hire.
• Does not require BNSF's assistance to obtain, maintain, or extend employment authorization.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university.
• Have and will maintain at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA.
• Have LESS THAN three (3) years of professional work experience, excluding internships, part-time jobs, or positions held while pursuing undergraduate/graduate degree.

Responsibilities

• Preparing internal and external reports and perform account reconciliations.
• Conducting contract research and maintaining confidential information securely.
• Assisting in testing system changes and enhancements, handle ad-hoc requests.
• Building strong customer, employee and business partner relationships through issue resolution and continuous improvement while maintaining business integrity.
• Possess leadership, teamwork, clear communication, adaptability, and resilience to meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
