Job summary

Truist Financial in Charlotte, NC seeks a senior finance professional to drive execution of business priorities through structured reporting, communications, and coordination. The role develops materials, manages recurring routines, and aligns Finance with enterprise partners.

The candidate will analyze performance, create executive-ready analyses, and lead governance and reporting improvements across multiple stakeholder groups under tight timelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or science or equivalent education and related training.
  • 5–7 years of experience in finance, business operations, reporting, or COO coordination, preferably in financial services.
  • Ability to create executive-ready materials and presentations.
  • Experience leading recurring reporting routines and coordinating across stakeholder groups.
  • Strong facilitation and senior stakeholder collaboration on governance and decision materials.
  • Detail-oriented with strategic, critical thinking and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to drive timely delivery under deadlines.
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel and reporting tools such as PowerBI/Tableau.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze Finance performance, operational metrics, and strategic priorities to identify risks, opportunities, and trends, and advise leadership on actions.
  • Independently evaluate complex business issues and develop strategic options, recommendations, and action plans for Finance leadership.
  • Support and coordinate assigned strategic initiatives and workstreams, conducting analysis, assessing impacts, and developing recommendations to support business objectives.
  • Partner with Finance leaders to assess business challenges and recommend improvements to operating processes, governance routines, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop executive-level analyses, business cases, and decision-support materials to inform planning discussions and leadership decisions.
  • Assess risks, dependencies, and cross-functional impacts for key initiatives and propose mitigation strategies to leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting frameworks, reporting methodologies, and performance measures for better decision-making.
  • Synthesize complex information, formulate conclusions, and provide recommendations to Finance leadership.

Support Finance leadership by driving execution of business priorities through structured reporting, communications, and coordination. This role enables effective Business Office operations by developing materials, managing recurring routines, and ensuring alignment across Finance teams and enterprise partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Analyze Finance business performance, operational metrics, and strategic priorities to identify emerging risks, opportunities, and trends, providing recommendations to leadership on appropriate actions.
  2. Independently evaluate complex business issues and develop strategic options, recommendations, and action plans for Finance leadership consideration.
  3. Support and coordinate assigned strategic initiatives and workstreams, conducting analysis, assessing impacts, and developing recommendations to support business objectives.
  4. Partner with Finance leaders to assess business challenges and recommend improvements to operating processes, governance routines, and organizational effectiveness.
  5. Develop executive-level analyses, business cases, and decision-support materials to inform strategic planning discussions and leadership decision-making.

  8. Synthesize complex information, formulate conclusions, and provide recommendations to Finance leadership on business and operational matters.
QUALIFICATIONS - Required Qualifications:
  1. Bachelors degree in business, Finance or science/academic field, or equivalent education and related training or experience.
  2. 5-7 years of experience in Finance, business operations, reporting, Business Office/COO, or coordination-focused roles, preferably within financial services.
  3. Advanced ability to create executive-ready materials and presentations, including synthesizing complex inputs into clear, actionable leadership messaging.
  4. Demonstrated experience independently leading recurring reporting routines, coordinating operating forums, and driving deliverables across multiple stakeholder groups.
  5. Advanced facilitation and coordination skills to partner with senior stakeholders on governance documentation, decision materials, and cross-functional priorities.
  6. High attention to detail and ability to think critically and strategically, multi-task, and drive change.
  7. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
  8. Strong meeting management, conflict management, and executive presentation skills, with the ability to guide discussion, surface decisions, and drive follow-up.
  9. Results-oriented and demonstrated ability to work under difficult time constraints and required delivery dates.
  10. Ability to think critically and strategically with a bias for action to drive change and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  11. Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and reporting/workflow tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Power Apps, Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot, etc.), with ability to improve or automate reporting processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. MBA or advanced degree.
  2. Advanced risk certifications with focus on operational and regulatory areas of the financial services/banking industry.
  3. Business intelligence certification / advanced experience (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Power Apps, Power Automate, etc.).
  4. 5-7 years of Management Consulting, Business Office, or Finance transformation experience.
