Job summary

The University of Chicago Library is seeking a Finance Specialist who will support the Library Finance Manager with budgets, forecasting, and analyses across operating, endowment, gifts, and capital budgets.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Human Resources and Interim Head of Finance, the role requires a degree in a related field and up to two years of relevant finance experience, with proficiency in Oracle, AURA, Concur, and Workday. Hybrid schedule in Chicago, IL.

Qualifications

• Minimum a college/university degree in a related field.
• Two years of finance, accounting, or financial auditing is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Works with Library departments to prepare, monitor, and analyze budgets.
• Prepares monthly financial forecast reports and assists with year-end reporting.
• Reviews purchase requests and ensures conformance with policies and budget allocations.
• Performs accounts payable/receivable activities and journal entries in Oracle.
• Maintains spreadsheets and financial tracking tools and supports staff training.
