Job summary

The University of Chicago – Biological Sciences Division seeks a financial coordinator to monitor operating and capital budgets across divisions and units, assisting with short- and long-term financial goals.

You will perform accounts payable/receivable, build quarterly and year-end reports, and support the Senior Director of Finance with planning, analysis, and model development. Excellent Excel skills and university‑level financial experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
• Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent.
• Experience working in a University setting and financial modeling experience.

Responsibilities

• Reporting/analysis for the Service Delivery Unit (SDU) including report generation, analysis, projections, and verification of financial information.
• Initiates and tracks external billing agreements and prepares monthly/quarterly invoicing.
• Ad hoc reporting/financial analysis as needed by Senior Director of Finance and/or Executive Administrator.
• Performs accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks to ensure timely payment of invoices and billing.
• Participates in the creation of the annual operating budget.
