Job summary

Mecklenburg County Government seeks a Finance Project Manager to lead collaboration and implement multiple finance initiatives within the Financial Services Department, driving efficiency and cross-divisional coordination.

You will oversee all phases from planning through delivery, prepare status updates for staff and Leadership Team, and help staff participate on project committees while applying best practices in accounting and financial analysis.

Qualifications

Minimum of six years in Accounting or Finance.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.
Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted.

Responsibilities

Perform project management and coordinate administration of finance projects with emphasis on system efficiency and collaboration from various areas throughout the Department and County.
Oversee and actively contribute to all phases of several concurrent projects, from planning through delivery.
Serve as department informant for updating staff and the Leadership Team on all project status and timelines.
Identify and prepare appropriate Finance staff to serve on project committees.
Research new practices, procedures, or alternatives while evaluating solutions to problems.
Obtain a general, yet thorough understanding of all processes within the department to facilitate process development and improvement.
Analyze data, create reports and/or presentations, and communicate results to County leadership and external agencies.
Assist and serve as a backup or support to other individuals in the Business unit and/or department for ongoing tasks and responsibilities.
