Now hiring for a Finance Project Analyst

Location: Houston, TX
Pay Rate: $65.00 - $90.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, forecasting, reporting, and data analysis.

Experience Requirements

• 6 to 10 years of accounting, finance, financial analysis, or project accounting experience.
• Experience preparing month-end close entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Background analyzing financial performance, profitability, budgets, forecasts, and variance reporting.
• Experience working with ERP or enterprise financial systems and large data sets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in project-based, engineering, energy, manufacturing, or operational environments.
• Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, audit support, and internal controls.
• Familiarity with Oracle, PeopleSoft (PSFT), WDA, or similar financial systems.
• Experience supporting process improvements, automation initiatives, or financial system implementations.
• International, multi-entity, or statutory reporting experience is a plus.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to work in an office environment with occasional travel to project sites.
• Capable of sitting, standing, and using a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
• Partner with Operations and Project Managers to evaluate project profitability, costs, forecasts, and financial performance.
• Perform financial analysis to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and business insights.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, reconciliations, and account reviews during month-end close.
• Support bid reviews, cash flow planning, working capital initiatives, and customer collections.
• Assist with SOX compliance, audits, financial controls, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Research accounting issues and resolve discrepancies while maintaining data integrity.
• Drive continuous improvement by simplifying, standardizing, and automating financial processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reporting accuracy, efficiency, and decision-making support.
