Job summary

Austal USA, a shipbuilder based in Mobile, AL, seeks a Finance Policy & Compliance Specialist to develop and maintain Finance procedure manuals and formal policies. You will write, edit and coordinate documents, conducting reviews with Finance teams and ensuring updates are communicated across the organization.

The role requires 3–5 years in Accounting/Finance with strong writing skills, plus 2–4 years in technical writing. Familiarity with FAR/DFARS and audit environments is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3–5 years of Accounting/Finance experience with strong written communication.
• 2–4 years of technical writing experience focusing on policies and procedures.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience interfacing with others to gather information and data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and flowcharting software.
• Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS and Disclosure Statements preferred.
• Understanding of audit environments in Finance.

Responsibilities

• Develop Finance procedure manuals and policy documents.
• Write, rewrite and edit finance-related documents; lead review meetings.
• Acquire SME knowledge by interviewing Finance personnel.
• Ensure updates to Finance manuals are processed and communicated.
• Develop and maintain Finance policies; oversee annual policy reviews.
• Promote a culture of compliance and act as a Compliance Champion.
