FACETS seeks a Business & Finance Manager in Fairfax, VA to oversee daily financial operations, credit card administration, and housing program finances, ensuring compliance with funding and audits. The role blends hands-on reconciliations with policy development, internal controls, and cross‑department collaboration to improve financial systems in a mission-driven nonprofit.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in financial management, accounting, bookkeeping, or business operations.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite; comfort learning new financial or database systems.
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial policies clearly to non-financial staff and external partners.

Responsibilities

Monitor actual spending against approved budgets across departments and grants/contracts.
Assist with the annual budgeting process and gather input from program leads.
Track restricted funding (e.g., HUD, state, local grants) and ensure expenses align with contracts.
Prepare financial back-up for grant reporting, reimbursements, and audits.
Develop and implement improved financial controls and policies.
