Vertiq is seeking a Finance & Operations Manager to lead and optimize financial processes and oversee day-to-day business operations as we scale our advanced propulsion products. This role focuses on managing accounting, financial forecasting, and budgeting, as well as driving strategies to improve cash flow and financing.

In addition to financial leadership, this role provides critical support for general business operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in finance and operations within scaling companies.
• Experience in hardware startup or manufacturing preferred.
• Strong GAAP foundation, financial modeling, and budget management.
• Experience managing cash flow, working capital, and financing efforts.
• HR fundamentals, benefits management, and payroll compliance experience.
• Proficiency with modern accounting/ERP software (QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
• Ability to automate workflows using AI tools to improve efficiency.
• Strong communication and ability to present financial data clearly.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end accounting operations including AP/AR, payroll processing, and close processes.
• Lead financial forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning.
• Develop strategies to optimize cash flow and support financing/fundraising.
• Generate accurate financial reports and dashboards for executives.
• Oversee general business operations and scalable systems across the company.
• Provide office management support for onsite team.
• Manage relationships with vendors, financial institutions, and external tax/audit professionals.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Assist HR administration including onboarding/offboarding and benefits management.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and production to align financial goals with milestones.
