Job summary

Grand Blanc Township seeks an Assistant Finance Director to support and oversee fiscal operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, revenues, utility billing, and procurement. The role involves budget development support, journal entries, and audit readiness.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, five years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and Excel proficiency.

Qualifications

• Five years accounting experience.
• Proficiency in GAAP and financial reporting.
• Ability to analyze budgets and interpret financial records.
• Attention to deadlines; maintain confidentiality and integrity.
• Proficient in Windows and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains financial records, including cash/investment needs, receivables, reconciliations, and budget data for department heads.
• Oversees GL, AP/AR, revenues, utility billing and procurement processes.
• Monitors year-end schedules and audit preparation; supports external auditors.
• Develops and oversees procurement processes and internal controls.
• Provides mentoring and backup coverage within Finance Department.
• Performs additional related duties as assigned.
