Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Supervisor for Finance to lead the district’s financial operations in Clinton Charter Township, MI. The role oversees accounting, grants, and reporting, reporting to the Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations.

The ideal candidate has an advanced degree in accounting/finance with significant district experience and strong Excel/AS400 skills. This full-time position involves budgeting, audits, and risk management in a public sector environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or Bachelor’s Degree with 3–5 years of school district accounting experience preferred.
• MSBO CFO or Business Manager Certification preferred.
• 6+ years of progressively responsible work experience in a financial management position will be considered.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP are required.

Responsibilities

• Accounts for all financial transactions of the district through supervision of staff and month end processes.
• Oversee grants (Title I, II, III, IDEA, 31a, etc.) ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate annual audit and liaise with auditors.
• Prepare/state/local reports (SE-4096, SE-4094, FID, Final Expenditure reports).
• Manage daily cash flow, wires, transfers, and state aid borrowing analysis.
