Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation seeks a Finance/Accounting Intern for Leadership & Business Operations at the Stassney Campus in Austin. The role supports leadership, coordinates meetings, and develops executive materials while gaining exposure to strategic initiatives and business administration.

Preferred candidates are pursuing related degrees and possess strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Must be a student in high school or other educational institution or accepted into a college, university or educational institution.
• Must be at least 16 years of age and enrolled in high school or higher education, including trade/vocational schools.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Economics, Business Administration, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; discretion with confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative, operational, and project support to leadership and assigned initiatives, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
• Coordinate and support meetings, events, and leadership forums, including scheduling, agendas, briefing materials, notes, and follow-up actions.
• Develop and maintain professional communications, presentations, reports, and executive-level materials.
• Draft, edit, proofread, and manage correspondence for various audiences.
• Create and maintain SOPs, training materials, and reference guides.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies, AI, automation tools, and digital solutions to improve operations.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support leadership decisions.
• Other duties as assigned.
