Black & White Engineering is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the US finance function from Tampa in a hybrid role. You will oversee month-end close, project accounting, forecasting, cash flow, and reporting to the Finance Director, with collaboration across leaders to improve controls and efficiency.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's in accounting/finance, 5+ years of US GAAP experience, and ERP/Excel proficiency (Dynamics 365 preferred).

Finance Manager – US | Tampa, FL (Hybrid) | Full-time | FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Overview

Based in Tampa, Florida, the purpose of this role is to coordinate and perform tasks in line with Group reporting requirements, in coordination with the Group Finance team, CFO, and Regional Finance Director.

The US Finance Manager owns the day-to-day financial management of the US business and its project portfolio. Reporting to the Finance Director, the role leads a reliable month-end close, accurate project and entity reporting, disciplined billing and collections, and timely forecasts. The manager works with US business leaders and the Group Finance team to explain performance, resolve risks, and improve financial controls and processes.

Role Responsibilities

• Own the US month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations, journals, accruals, intercompany balances, review of transactions, and delivery of complete, accurate reporting to Group deadlines.
• Prepare and review US financial results, balance sheet support, cash flow information, and variance analysis; explain key movements, risks, and actions to the Finance Director and relevant business leaders.
• Own project finance controls: keep the Gross Profit Forecast (internal process) current, partner with project managers on progress and cost-to-complete estimates, review project margins and revenue recognition, and ensure forecasts and WBS data in D365 reflect the latest project position.
• Lead external and intercompany billing, review invoice accuracy and supporting documentation, monitor receivables and aging, and coordinate collections and dispute resolution to improve cash conversion.
• Oversee accounts payable, expenses, customer and vendor postings, payment preparation, and bank and ledger reconciliations in D365; ensure approvals, coding, and supporting records meet company policy.
• Prepare US budgets, rolling forecasts, and cash forecasts with operational leaders; challenge assumptions and identify emerging financial or working capital issues.
• Maintain effective US finance controls, documented processes, and audit-ready records; identify and implement improvements in D365, reporting, and project accounting.
• Coordinate with external advisers and Group Finance on applicable US federal, state, and local tax filings, statutory requirements, and audits, providing accurate records and resolving queries on time.
• Provide US inputs for Group, lender, and Board reporting as required, and coordinate with regional and Group colleagues on intercompany matters and shared reporting processes.
• Guide and review the work of finance staff or external service providers where assigned; prioritize deliverables, provide feedback, and **escalate** material issues promptly to the Finance Director.
• Primary duties will be undertaken in an office environment with computer use.
• Other reasonable duties as appropriate.

Role Accountabilities

• This role will support the business across the US and have input to global processes.
• There will be overlap with regional finance and business management roles, which may result in some matrix reporting lines and working.
• The role requires working to specific deadlines and has a direct impact on the company’s cash flow efficiency.

Education, Training and Experience (minimum)

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of substantial accounting and finance experience, including ownership of a close and management reporting in a US business; experience in project-based or contract-driven operations preferred.
• Sound knowledge of US GAAP, project revenue recognition, financial controls, reconciliations, budgeting, and cash management.
• Strong ERP and Excel skills; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred. Able to explain financial results clearly to non-finance colleagues and manage competing deadlines.
• Ability to travel to Black & White Engineering offices in the U.S.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
