Job summary

Wilson-McShane Corporation, a third party administrator for Taft-Hartley funds, seeks a full-time Finance Manager in our Kansas City, MO office. The role leads finance operations, affects financial reporting and audits, and partners with management, auditors, and Trustees to ensure accurate reporting.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of building a high-performing team, improving internal controls, and driving process changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting and audits.
• Minimum 3 years supervising accounting/finance staff.
• Proven leadership with delegation, coaching, and accountability.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and ability to communicate accounting matters clearly.
• CPA designation and experience with Taft-Hartley and MIP Fund Accounting preferred.
• Up to 10% travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Finance department with the Finance Supervisor.
• Review MIP transactions, GL activity, and supporting documentation for accuracy.
• Review, analyze, and approve complex accounting transactions and journal entries.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes and timely financial reporting.
• Coordinate external fund audits (DOL, IRS, etc.) and audit responses.
• Develop staff via coaching, training, and performance feedback.
• Improve accounting policies, internal controls, and processes.
