Job description

About the Role:
Grade Level (for internal use):
12 The Team: The S&P Global Market Intelligence Finance team consists of employees in the UK, US, Malaysia and the Philippines. The Revenue and ACV team is currently based in London, New York, Charlottesville, Las Vegas, and Manila. The team also interacts with other divisions and S&P Global Corporate.

The Impact: This position will work to ensure all monthly Revenue and ACV reporting, and analysis is delivered timely and accurately to facilitate decision making by the management. They will lead integration with Annualized Contract Value ("ACV") workstream of the Revenue and ACV team to rely more on technology to further automate various analysis allowing the Revenue and ACV team to spend more time analyzing and understanding business drivers.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead Revenue reporting workstream.
  2. Ensure proper review controls and procedures are in place for Revenue reporting.
  3. Lead monthly close activities related to Revenue journal entries and monthly Revenue reporting.
  4. Ensure proper integration between Revenue, ACV and COS workstreams.
  5. Lead transformation of workstream to leverage existing technologies such as Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI to remove and reduce manual processes that currently rely on excel.
  6. Support overall business unit reporting requirements. Develop knowledge and understanding of the financial systems that are critical to the reporting process.
  7. Prepare analysis for ad hoc requests and special projects and provide direct support to Finance Director responsible for the overall Revenue and ACV team.
  8. Provide thorough and accurate responses to senior management and business leads inquiries.
  9. Perform ad hoc analyses as requested to help management make informed decisions regarding the short- and long-term objectives of the business.
  10. Alert management to reporting or operational problems and suggest actionable solutions.
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $102,387 to $176,946. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We're Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's Degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in public or private accounting, or within a finance department.
  3. At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role within an accounting or finance department.
  4. Proven experience managing the end-to-end process of revenue contracts.
  5. In-depth knowledge of subscription revenue models.
  6. Comprehensive understanding of SOX controls, with a focus on process flow.
  7. Ability to engage confidently with C-level executives; quick thinker and resourceful.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to operational and financial challenges.
  9. Demonstrated research and analytical skills, providing the leadership team with precise and insightful interpretations of financial data.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience with Oracle ERP (Fusion), EPM (Smart View), Salesforce CRM, Salesforce CPQ, Tableau or Power BI, and Alteryx.
  2. CPA certification is preferred.
  3. High attention to detail and strong analytical skills, coupled with an inquisitive mindset.
  4. Capability to work independently while being an effective team player.
