Job description

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified accountant to join a Private Office, supporting high-net-worth individuals, and budget holders across their portfolio.

This is a varied role combining financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial control with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement, relationship management and delivering a high-quality service.

You will work closely with family members, their representatives and a range of professional advisers, ensuring financial information is accurate, insightful and delivered with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.

This position would suit an accountant who has trained in practice before moving into industry, bringing strong technical foundations alongside the commercial awareness and interpersonal skills needed to operate in a private client environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and oversee management accounts, statutory reporting, budgets and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Analyse financial performance, challenge assumptions and provide meaningful insights to support decision-making.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, translating complex financial information into clear, accessible advice.
  • Work collaboratively with family members, budget holders and external advisers, including specialist tax and treasury teams. Support the management of financial affairs across multiple entities, maintaining robust controls and accurate reconciliations.
  • Monitor cash flow, prepare forecasts and coordinate payments across banking platforms.
  • Oversee purchase orders, invoices and financial transactions, ensuring appropriate authorisation and control.
  • Support and guide junior finance colleagues, helping to manage workloads and maintain high standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting systems and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and wider financial initiatives as required.
About You

You will be a qualified accountant with a strong technical grounding and the confidence to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Ideally, you will have:
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
  • A background in accountancy practice followed by at least two years’ experience in an industry-based finance role.
  • Experience preparing management accounts, budgets, forecasts and financial reports
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with senior individuals.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and take ownership of your work.
  • Experience within a family office, private client environment, professional services or a multi-entity organisation would be advantageous, although candidates with the right transferable experience will also be considered.
Personal Attributes

Given the nature of the role, discretion, integrity and professionalism are essential. You will be comfortable working with confidential financial information and building trusted relationships with individuals who expect an exceptionally high standard of service.

You will be proactive, approachable and commercially aware, with the confidence to challenge constructively, solve problems and work collaboratively across different teams.

Whats on Offer

  • Hybrid working (2 days in the office)
  • 26 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
