The role offers a newly created, highly visible position with total compensation in the $300k–$350k range for a candidate with 8–15 years of investment accounting experience.

The successful candidate will drive monthly/quarterly reporting, ensure GAAP and IFRS compliance, and collaborate across PM, Trading

Qualifications

• 8–15 years of investment accounting experience across funds or FP&A with financial services
• Experience with hedge funds accounting
• Experience with commodities or fixed income investments preferred
• CPA preferred
• Proven ability to improve processes and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting and reporting for complex trading strategies.
• Oversee monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
• Provide analytics on risk and valuations impact.
• Oversee operation of expansive investment portfolio.
• Drive process improvements and leverage AI for efficiency.
• Ensure GAAP and IFRS compliance.

Finance Manager, Investment Accounting

Location: New York, NY (midtown)

Compensation: $300-$350k total comp

Overview

Newly created role! Highly compensated, highly visible position ideal for a financial services professional with 8 to 15 years of investment accounting experience – either directly for a fund, with the Big 4 and financial services clients, or a combination of both.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting and reporting responsibilities for complex trading strategies.


• Provide expert operational oversight of an expansive investment portfolio.


• Oversee monthly and quarterly financial reporting.


• Provide valuable insight into the current financial environment, including performing analytics on risk, to evaluate potential effect on valuations


• Lead process improvements geared towards efficient workflows, leveraging AI and other tools for streamlining.


• Ensure a compliance with GAAP and IFRS


• Collaborate across key verticals, including PM, Trading and other teams to provide accounting expertise which will facilitate sound decisions.


• Serve as liaison with external auditors


• Assist with special projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Accounting or Finance or similar


• 8 to 15 years of investment accounting experience – either directly for a fund, with the Big 4 and financial services clients, or a combination of both


• Experience with a variety of financial products


• Solid understanding of accounting principles as it relates to hedge funds


• Experience with commodities and / or fixed income-related investments preferred


• CPA preferred


• Proven ability to improve processes and workflows.
