Job summary

Bloomberg Industry Group seeks a Senior FP&A professional in Arlington, TX to lead reporting, forecasting, and long‑range planning for Bloomberg’s flagship products. You will own the monthly close, drive analytics, and support sales commissions calculations with accuracy and insight.

You will build and maintain Excel‑based models and leverage SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, and Alteryx to deliver actionable insights to Finance and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 7 years’ direct experience in financial planning & analysis, business analytics, and/or corporate or strategic finance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate large amounts of data while succinctly summarizing findings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and various financial analysis tools (trend & variance analyses).
  • Experience with Oracle or SAP ERP systems; proficiency in Salesforce, Workday, SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx or similar tools.
  • Experience in a subscription-based business.
  • Experience handling sensitive headcount and compensation data for sales commissions.

Responsibilities

  • Gain a financial and operational understanding of the business and its key drivers.
  • Analyze and advise on the financial and operational impact of strategic policies and performance drivers.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy and compliance with policies; monitor forecast accuracy and provide insightful commentary.
  • Develop and maintain high‑quality Excel‑based models to measure financial performance and KPIs; perform scenario analyses.
  • Provide support to stakeholders and manage financial activities for forecasts and annual planning.
  • Validate headcount and input data for monthly sales commissions calculations.
  • Contribute to special projects as needed.

Job description

You will play a pivotal role in continued growth across our flagship products – Bloomberg Law, Bloomberg Tax & Accounting, and Bloomberg Government – providing detailed reporting and analytics, as well as key insights, to stakeholders in Finance and across the Business. Responsible for managing the monthly close, supporting business reporting and analytics, developing forecasts and long‑range plans, supporting sales commissions calculations, as well as assisting with special projects for corporate support units at Bloomberg Industry Group.

Responsibilities
  • Gain a financial and operational understanding of the business, including its mission, products, services, clients, initiatives, employees, etc.
  • Analyze and advise on the financial and operational impact of strategic policies, while identifying drivers behind performance changes.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy and compliance with internal and external policies, including monitoring forecast accuracy, understanding drivers of variances, and providing insightful commentary & analysis for both current and future periods.
  • Develop and maintain high‑quality Excel‑based models to measure and monitor financial performance and key KPIs, and perform sensitivity/scenario analysis.
  • Provide support to key stakeholders and manage financial activities for periodic forecast and annual planning cycles.
  • Validate headcount status and data inputs for monthly sales commissions calculations.
  • May be assigned other special tasks or projects according to business needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field of study; or equivalent experience.
  • 7 years’ direct experience in financial planning & analysis, business analytics, and/or corporate or strategic finance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate large amounts of data while succinctly summarizing findings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and various financial analysis tools, such as trend and variance analyses.
  • Experience utilizing a large integrated ERP/MRP computer system (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Workday, SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx, or similar systems, preferred.
  • Experience working in a subscription‑based business, preferred.
  • Experience processing sensitive headcount and compensation information for sales commission payouts.
Compensation

Compensation Range: $120,000.00‑$140,000.00. Placement in the salary range will be decided upon completion of the interview process. Salary determination will be based on factors including but not limited to relevant experience, demonstrated skills related to the requirements of the role, education, certifications, and geographic location.
