Job summary

Merit Advisors in Dallas, TX seeks a Finance Manager to serve as CFO's strategic partner, guiding the finance team and delivering high‑quality analysis and recommendations to executive leadership and the board.

You will oversee the 3-statement model, forecasts, dashboards, and KPI scorecards, and play a key role in M&A and growth initiatives, while maintaining executive presence and mentoring a talented finance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• 7-10 years of finance management experience in FP&A or corporate strategy.
• Experience leading finance teams and partnering with CFOs or exec leadership.
• Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, financial modeling; BI tools and accounting software a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as CFO's strategic partner to drive financial strategy and decision-making.
• Lead and mentor the Finance team with delegated responsibilities.
• Manage and review 3-statement model, forecasts, and analyses for real-time insights.
• Prepare Board and Executive-level presentations with actionable recommendations.
• Analyze performance, identify drivers, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop dashboards, KPIs, and scorecards with key metrics.
• Oversee revenue pipeline analysis and alignment with strategic goals.
• Support M&A, growth initiatives, and long-term investments.

Our Finance Manager will manage Merit’s Finance team and report directly to the CFO, providing analytical and strategic support to Executive Leadership and the Board of Directors. This role goes beyond managing the reporting and financial modeling functions—you’ll be responsible for reviewing and completing major projects, and guiding a team to deliver high-quality analysis and recommendations supporting Merit’s strategic vision. You will play a critical role in shaping financial strategies, supporting executive decision-making, and serving as a key liaison with the leadership team.

This is a highly visible position with direct impact on the company’s performance, requiring executive presence, strategic thinking, and the ability to anticipate challenges and opportunities before they arise.

What Your Day Will Look Like

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or advanced degree is optional) from a top four-year college or university7-10 years of finance management experience, with demonstrated success in FP&A, corporate strategy, or related areasDirect experience managing finance teams and partnering closely with CFOs or executive leadershipAdvanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling; experience with BI tools and accounting software is a plusStrong business acumen with a track record of driving financial performance and supporting growth initiatives
