Job summary

SP+ Corporation is a dynamic, public-facing finance role in Kansas City, MO, focused on comprehensive accounting operations. This position handles financial reporting, budgeting, variance analyses, and oversees AR/AP, cash management, and month-end close processes.

You will supervise audit staff and coordinate annual revenue reporting while maintaining strong client, manager, and staff relationships. The role requires solid Excel skills, payroll systems experience, and project management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and at least four years of professional accounting experience.
• Prior management/supervisory experience.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Working knowledge of Quicken or AS400.
• 10-Key.
• Demonstrate ability to review financial/accounting statements, experience with contracts.
• Experience with Workforce Now, or other web-based payroll system.
• Experience with time & attendance biometric software a strong plus.
• Ability to maintain a cohesive work relationship with the client, managers and office staff.
• Project management skills including resource allocation, time line maintenance and decision making expectations.
• Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Deadline-oriented.
• Math Ability: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in units of measure, including fractions and decimals.
• Reasoning Ability: apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions and respond to employee problems or complaints.
• Work Environment: office environment with sitting most of the time.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports, develop budgets, and perform variance analysis.
• Compile periodic financial reporting packages for senior management.
• Oversee general accounting functions, including AR/AP, account reconciliation, and cash management.
• Administer all financial management systems, evaluating and integrating new applications.
• Manage staff of auditors and oversee the required company auditing process.
• Provide monthly and annual revenue reports.
• Accountable for annual expense budget maintenance, review and forecast.
• Reconciliation of monthly expenses and reports.
• Responsible for payroll processing
• Time & Attendance biometric software and website
• Maintain general ledgers including journal entries
• Complete month and year end reporting requirements
• Invoicing and collection of monthly parkers
• Monthly reporting and reconciliation
