Job summary

Keller Executive Search seeks a Finance Manager to lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and project accounting for a fast-paced contracting environment in Kansas City. This role collaborates with operational leadership to drive performance, improve reporting accuracy, and support strategic decision-making.

You will manage monthly to annual reporting, develop budgets and forecasts, monitor project profitability, and oversee WIP and job cost reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Five or more years of accounting or finance experience.
• Experience in construction, contracting, engineering, or project-based services preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting.
• Experience with ERP or construction accounting systems is desirable.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• CPA or CMA designation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial performance analyses.
• Monitor project revenue, costs, margins, and profitability.
• Review work-in-progress schedules and job cost reports.
• Identify financial risks, trends, and budget variances.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting activities.
• Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
• Maintain accurate financial controls and accounting procedures.
• Prepare reports and presentations for leadership.
• Support annual audits and tax preparation activities.
• Partner with project and operations teams to improve financial performance.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting and reporting processes.
