Job summary

ARCO is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Kansas City, MO team. You will work closely with the Controller and multiple departments to reconcile ledgers, prepare budgets, and support month-end close.

Ideal candidates have a public accounting background, strong Excel skills, and experience with Viewpoint or similar ERP systems. This role offers growth, competitive compensation, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 1–3 years of related experience.
Public accounting experience is a plus.
General knowledge of payroll concepts and tax withholdings.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Experience with Viewpoint Software or equivalent ERP system.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Must be detail oriented and able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Assist controller team in reconciling month-end reports to the general ledger.
Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets.
Design and build Excel pivot tables.
Reconcile bank accounts monthly.
Process expense postings daily.
Assist in intercompany cash reconciliations bi-weekly.
Support ad hoc reporting for stakeholders.
Contribute to month-end close processes and financial statements for multiple entities.
