Job summary

G.A. Rogers & Associates, in partnership with a well-established construction subcontractor, seeks a Finance Leader who wants to be more than the person behind the numbers. This role is a strategic business partner with operations, helping influence decisions and profitability.

You will build financial insights, lead a finance team, and present to executive leadership, shaping long-term growth and strengthening internal controls.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of FP&A, operational finance, or financial leadership.
• 2+ years of leading and developing direct reports.
• Experience supporting construction, subcontracting, manufacturing, or project-based environments.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Advanced Excel; Power BI or Tableau a plus.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
• Collaborative leadership style with cross-functional influence.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operators to improve financial performance and profitability.
• Analyze labor, materials, and project costs to identify trends and risks.
• Develop financial models, forecasts, and reporting to support decisions.
• Improve visibility into project performance and margins.
• Build dashboards and KPIs to provide actionable insights.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Mentor a finance team and foster cross-department collaboration.
• Present insights and recommendations to executive leadership.

What You'll Do

You'll serve as a trusted financial partner to operations, helping leaders make informed decisions that improve performance across the business.

Responsibilities include:

• Partner with operational leaders to improve financial performance and profitability
• Analyze labor, material and project costs to identify trends, risks and opportunities
• Develop financial models, forecasts and reporting that support strategic decision-making
• Improve visibility into project performance, margins and operational metrics
• Build dashboards and KPIs that provide meaningful business insights
• Strengthen budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline reporting and enhance internal controls
• Lead financial planning activities that influence business decisions - not simply report historical results
• Develop and mentor a finance team while fostering collaboration across departments
• Present financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, operational finance or financial leadership
• 2+ years leading and developing direct reports
• Experience supporting construction, subcontracting, manufacturing, industrial services or another project-based environment
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
• Advanced Excel required; Power BI, Tableau or other analytics platforms are a plus
• Experience improving financial processes, reporting and operational visibility
• Ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear, actionable way
• Collaborative leadership style with the confidence to influence across all levels of the organization
