Job summary

Walgreens Corporate Headquarters is launching the Finance Development Program (FDP), a two-year rotation program with four 6-month assignments across finance and related areas. FDP emphasizes mentorship from a Steering Committee and CFO, with a focus on developing well-rounded business professionals in finance and the surrounding fields.

The program provides extensive training in financial planning, modeling, risk and control, SEC reporting, and contracting, plus leadership and communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics with no more than 2 years full-time work experience.
• GPA of 3.2 or above on a 4.0 scale.
• Experience leading people and/or processes in school and/or work situations.
• Experience analyzing situations and resolving problems in school and/or work situations.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships within a team.
• Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (e.g., SUM, charts, sorting).
• Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (themes, transitions, charts).
• Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (headers, tables).
• Willing to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Responsibilities

• Assist management with financial planning, budgeting/forecasting, variance analysis and ad hoc business analysis.
• Assist management with development of complex business models and financial analysis applying IRR, NPV, DCF concepts.
• Assist management in assessment of risks and controls for one or more given business processes.
• Assist management in closing the books and/or SEC reporting duties.
• Assist management with business research and SWOT analyses to support formulating strategies.
• Assist management with identifying cost savings and process improvements and implementing them.
• Assist management with evaluating business contracts.
• Assist management with ad hoc analyses, generating and analyzing reports for clear outcomes.
