Job summary

Ameriprise Financial, Columbia Threadneedle Investments and RiverSource Insurance & Annuities offer a 24‑month Leadership Development Program with three 8‑month rotations across key finance, accounting and business areas. You will gain real‑world experience, contribute to decision‑support analytics, and have opportunities to post to a permanent role within Ameriprise Financial.

Qualifications

Current senior at a 4-year university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Mathematics.
Graduation expected December 2026 or May/June 2027.
Commitment to complete the full 24-month Leadership Development Program.
High degree of self-motivation with strong integrity and ethics.
Proven organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Ability to work and communicate collaboratively with all levels of the organization including team members, managers, and senior leaders.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Visa sponsorship applicants must have a valid work authorization that does not require sponsorship for employment in the United States (e.g., H-1B, F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, TN).

Responsibilities

Prepare a cost-benefit analysis to determine expected benefits of a new product or program.
Analyze profit and loss statements and recommend solutions to grow revenues and manage expenses.
Balance sheet management, due diligence, and process re-engineering.
Prepare expense and revenue forecasts and analyze trends and variances from plan and prior forecasts.
Work with a team conducting an audit and testing controls of a business process; evaluate business risks and opportunities to mitigate risk.
Assist with the creation of a cash flow spreadsheet for purposes of dividend planning.
Perform analysis of taxable income from investments, variance analysis and year-over-year trends.
Examples of past LDP projects include building and maintaining financial models and implementing new software across the organization.
