Job summary

AbbVie seeks a Finance Manager R&D Oncology to serve as a key finance business partner to the Oncology Clinical Development Team and Portfolio Program Management. You will oversee financial planning, analysis, and decision support to ensure accurate spend forecasting and optimal resource allocation.

Regular collaboration with R&D leadership to drive strategic budgeting, cost control, and long-range planning is essential.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Finance and/or Health/Life Sciences preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive, relevant finance experience.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration in dynamic, fast-paced settings.
• Ability to question assumptions and improve processes.
• Influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scenario planning and costing of clinical studies to support portfolio submissions and governance meetings.
• Monitor study progress and revise study estimates with rationale for senior management.
• Develop understanding of clinical trial cost interdependencies for actionable financial guidance.
• Provide variance analysis for planning cycles and create management reporting schedules.
• Present financial insights to R&D leadership to inform funding decisions.
• Collaborate with R&D to deliver on financial commitments and growth value drivers.
• Execute monthly/quarterly/LRP/LBE cycles as required.
