Job summary

Acton ADU, a Campbell, CA design-build company, seeks a finance leader to provide clear, fast, honest financial visibility and to build scalable infrastructure. You will own financial organization and reporting for the entire company, partnering with leadership to guide growth.

The role emphasizes rigorous control, durable workflows, and cross-functional collaboration with lending partners, outside accountants, and internal teams to support expansion across California.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in accounting or finance leadership, with team management.
• Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks.
• Experience implementing or optimizing financial software.
• Strong command of timekeeping, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
• Design workflows and integrate systems to reduce admin cost.
• Proven ability to see projects through full lifecycle.
• Bachelor's degree required; CPA is a plus.
• Familiarity with Builder Trend, Go High Level, BambooHR, Slack.
• Construction or project-based accounting experience is a plus (Sage/Viewpoint Spectrum).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a financial system that produces rapid reporting at low administrative cost using software and integrations.
• Prepare business reports, forecasts, and financial statements leadership can act on immediately.
• Monitor financial performance, identify cost reduction opportunities, and make recommendations.
• Manage timesheets, payroll, bookkeeping, 401(k), and budget.
• Establish partnerships with lending institutions to expand financing options.
• Keep the company in good standing with city, state, and federal requirements; manage tax credits and annual filings.
• Manage shareholder records and stock option administration.
• Build redundancy into every financial function; hire, train, and manage accounting staff and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance and documentation, and act as a trusted advisor to leadership.
