Job summary

Solstice is seeking a Director of Finance in NYC to build and own our financial operations, reporting to the co-founders. You’ll establish clean, audit-ready books, run payroll and compliance, and create financial models for leadership and the board.

You will implement controls, lead budgeting and forecasting, and build the systems a growing finance team will rely on. This is a hands-on, builder role in a fast-paced startup.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years' experience in accounting or finance
• Experience building a three-statement model and board-ready reporting
• Hands-on, independent operator with strong attention to detail
• GAAP knowledge and payroll compliance

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end accounting, close, AP/AR, and financial statement accuracy
• Invoicing and billing for pharma clients; manage DSO
• Run payroll and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions
• Build and maintain core financial models including cash flow and runway
• Design controls, expense policy and approval workflows as we scale
• Prepare board-ready reports and support budgeting/forecasting
• Manage bank, auditors, and external accounting/tax partners
• Lay groundwork for scalable finance systems and processes
