New Way Trucks is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our Scranton, IA team. You will support cash receipts, invoicing, and accounts payable, ensuring accurate financial records and timely processing in a manufacturing environment.

You will work closely with the accounting team and other departments to maintain ledgers, prepare payments, and assist with month-end and year-end closes, audits, and financial reporting.

Qualificações

• Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in accounting or related role, preferably cash receipts, invoicing, and accounts payable.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or other ERP systems) is a plus.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Record and apply daily cash receipts to the correct accounts.
• Verify and reconcile discrepancies in cash transactions.
• Prepare and deposit payments, ensuring accurate documentation of all transactions.
• Maintain detailed cash receipts logs and support reconciliation processes.
• Generate and distribute customer invoices in a timely manner.
• Ensure all invoices are complete, accurate, and meet company standards.
• Follow up on outstanding invoices and communicate with customers to resolve payment issues.
• Maintain detailed records of all invoices and related communications.
• Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper authorization.
• Prepare payment runs, ensuring all payments are processed on time.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate accounts payable files and documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Support month end and year end closing processes by ensuring timely data entry.
• Assist with audits by providing supporting documentation for cash receipts, invoicing, and accounts payable.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial transactions.
