Job summary

Finatal is seeking a Finance Integration Lead to own accounting at acquired businesses and drive the integration into the group. You will work directly with owners, local teams, and central finance to ensure accurate reporting, resolve issues and build consistent processes.

The role requires hands-on accounting experience, ability to manage multiple integrations, and strong ERP/migration know-how to standardize policies and support a playbook for future transitions.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of accounting activities at acquired businesses, including journal entries, reconciliations, cash management, AP and billing.
• Establish control over bank accounts, payment processes and financial records after acquisition.
• Assess existing accounting processes, identify gaps and implement controls.
• Manage transitions from outsourced accounting providers with clear transfer of records.
• Own finance integration plans, coordinating workstreams with the integration team.
• Support project accounting, including project codes, unit billing and time/materials.
• Prepare acquired businesses for transition onto group systems and handover to shared services.
• Standardize accounting policies and develop a repeatable finance integration playbook.
• Build relationships with former owners and local teams to address issues early.

Finatal is partnering with a private equity backed services business to appoint a Finance Integration Lead. Reporting to the CFO, this person will take ownership of finance and accounting at acquired businesses, establishing control from completion through integration into the wider group.

This is a hands on role for someone who understands how an accounting function operates and can manage several integrations simultaneously. You will work directly with business owners, local teams and the central finance function to maintain accurate reporting, resolve issues and establish consistent processes.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of accounting activities at acquired businesses, including journal entries, reconciliations, cash management, AP and billing.
• Establish control over bank accounts, payment processes and financial records immediately following acquisition.
• Assess existing accounting processes, identify gaps and implement appropriate controls.
• Manage transitions from outsourced accounting providers, ensuring continuity and a clear transfer of records and responsibilities.
• Own finance integration plans, coordinating multiple workstreams with the wider integration team.
• Support project accounting, including project codes, unit billing and time and materials arrangements.
• Prepare acquired businesses for transition onto group systems and handover to shared services.
• Standardize accounting policies and develop a repeatable finance integration playbook.
• Build relationships with former owners and local teams, addressing issues early and helping colleagues navigate unfamiliar processes.

Experience and profile

• Strong operational accounting experience across the full accounting cycle.
• Experience integrating acquired businesses or leading substantial accounting and systems transitions.
• Ability to perform the underlying accounting work while managing the broader integration plan.
• Familiarity with project based businesses, ideally within professional services, consulting, construction or a related environment.
• Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and experience supporting systems migrations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities and teams with varying levels of accounting experience.
• A resourceful, resilient approach, with strong analytical skills and the confidence to take ownership in an evolving environment.

Relevant backgrounds could include finance integration, controllership, operational finance or M&A advisory with substantial implementation experience. Candidates whose experience includes contract or interim assignments are welcome.
